I ordered this for the pin. However, I'm not sure if it's the right part. I'll find out this weekend.

I guess 6 if you include both connectors for the OEM FDC (sport) button and to the connector in the console. Again, I'm not sure on the correct part number.

I'm still looking for the correct connector to plug into the FDC button.

Thanks Balbs! Look forward to your findings. As I may just order everything through my local dealer once I have all the part numbers.

Cheers!

Quick question... does anyone know how to take the shifter plate off? I think that would require a whole process to remove. Is there a DIY video?

Thanks again!

Again ... it's already all over the first couple of pages at the beginning of the thread but maybe for some it's rather hard to read them:

Code:
61-13-8-380-696 = universal socket - 4 slot -> under FDC button
61-13-0-005-197 = bushing contact - wire that goes into above

Pull up on the leather shift cover. When it pops up you can pull straight up to expose the screws holding the shift bezel in place. There is a plug or 2 to undue and then the whole thing comes off. I plan on using the non-sport button bezel and just drilling a hole for the momentary button with light.

Waiting for Balbs to get the connector part number nailed down so that I can complete the wiring. I plan on putting a plug in the middle to disconnect when taking the bezel or center console apart in the future. Simple 3 prong connector with gold plugs should do the trick. Hobby shop has 3 prong servo connectors that would be perfect for this.

So can somebody answer this question?
I have a 2005 pre lci 535d M Sport with a remap already installed. It's running at about 330bhp with huge torque figures but I'd like to know whether this little mod would further benefit me or be a step backwards.
I know somebody else asked this question a while ago but I never saw a response. I would like to do this if it makes a difference but don't want to slow the old girl down.
Any response would be hugely appreciated
