"If you have all that, you have the cold weather package and the mirrors should be heated. There is no button for the heated mirrors. I believe it is activated when you turn on the rear window defroster, but if yours doesn't work, you should mention it to your dealer and get it repaired, hopefully under warranty."

Very interesting ... I will observe the rear defroster setting.

+1 ... but in terms of preference, I'd call them =

IMHO the whole is greater than the sum of the parts when the temps drop under 32 degrees!

In the United States, heated exterior mirrors are standard equipment on the e60's. I can't imagine Canadian version models being denied that feature since your climate is generally colder than many US States. From BMWUSA Website for base 528 model BMW ...

Good News.

Although my mirrors don't have any buttons to activate heat, the computer automatically turns on heated mirrors as soon as temperature outside is less than +3.0C ... when the warning comes on. Try it for yourself, touch the mirror it will hotter than your hand (36C).

So they work
