My car should be in the states this week. Does anyone know how long it will take to get to my dealer? I heard there are some problems with the software on the 5 series and that is holding the cars up. Is this true?

How long? depends how fast it goes through VDC... usually 2 weeks and if you're a little further then a few extra days for the truck to truck it.
Software problems holding up the cars?? Nope I didnt hear of any... maybe its for MP3 on NAV cars? BLAH that does me no good!

Here was the timetable for my 530xi that was delivered last month (July):
530xi port arrived on 07/10
Railed to the VPC on 7/11
VPC 07/12-07/15
Released to Transporter on 07/15
Arrived Dealer 07/18

My Ride: 2006 525xi
Do you know which VPC BMW uses for Iowa? I am trying to figure out when I can take the delivery. The vessel is scheduled to arrive on 08/07.

VPC was Spartansburg, SC. Dealer told me that sold units take priority in the line and are processed before dealer allocations.
My dealer had three sold units on the transporter (X5, 645, 530xi) and was the second stop on the transporters route late afternoon on a Monday.

That's some good info! My 525 arrived in South Carolina today and was discharged from the vessel. Can't wait to get it!

I went to the BMW dealership in downtown Toronto and i went into their lot to see a a certain colour on the 5 series. Anyways i noticed that they had atleast seven 525xi's and atleast five 530xi's. I thought that the 530xi wasnt even out yet, so i was suprised to see it there. BTW this dealership is the biggest in North America.
