Good afternoon everybody,

As I was driving my 2004 E60 I went to adjust my volume using the volume knob it started to adjust then just stopped then my knob felt really loose but the mute function on the button still works i was wondering if it's just a knob replacement or if there was DIY posted on here that can help me remove the cd player area of my dash so i can inspect if myself thanks in advance. have a great day.

Is there any way to trouble shoot this problem is the lil peice that sticks out supposed to lower the volume if you rotate it without the knob or is the thicker peice behind the thin rod

+1 Start with this first. It's a really cheap part from your local dealer. pull the knob and it will come right out. Exact same thing happened to me.
