Hello All,

Now that most of us have upgraded to software that enables voice commands, I've heard a few posts that people say Voice Commands work with Nav...

What does this mean? I have Nav and Voice Commands only get you to the point where you have to use I-Drive to hunt and peck each number and letter of the address. Am I missing something here? Are there people out there reporting that they can speak in the destination rather than using I-Drive? I.e. "New Destination", "1234 Main Street"...and bingo, it turns on guidance to 1234 Main Street? or, instead, the ability to speak the letters "M", "A", "I", "N" and it would select "Main Street"?

I'm not too optimistic that we'll be that lucky to have such fantastic voice recognition.

I hope I'm wrong -- I'll know in a day or two when I get the car back!

That's exactly how it is on German E60's.

moballa: Yes, that is how Nav/Voice work, currently, in the US. It's meant as a series of shortcuts to get to exactly where you need to be in iDrive, not as an alternate way to enter addresses. It's a fantastic time-saver, but it sure would be nice to be able to say addresses, but alas, probalby something for the future.
