Well the problem is happening on a 2004 545i with 41,000 miles.
There's an annoying vibration coming from the passenger side. It occurs only at 510 rpms (or around 450-550); no higher no lower..
It sounds like a cell phone like vibration/ buzz..Its really annoying.
Any Ideas where the culprit might be?

Maybe your car has the little-known wife add-on for the lane departure warning system?

(sorry, I couldn't resist... )

The CD changer can be ruled out (with or without it) the noise is still there.

My sport steering wheels center (where the horn is, did make a "chirpy" sound.
It was fixed at the dealers with some kind of oil.

Now the short "decor" list left of the steering wheel is "chirping" once in a while.
Will take care of that at the first service.

It is really hard to locate these sounds. But try to push on various parts to find out.

I don't know about the 2004. But in the LCIs there is a plastic dome or round cover immediately under the rear-view mirror (housing high beam assist etc) that sets up into that kind of vibration periodically in my car. Depends on speed and roadway surface, can be hard to reproduce. But when I held the plastic cover tightly, everytime, the noise stopped. I pressed and reseated it some after discovering it was the source, and it has not vibrated for a couple months. Give it a try if your car has this cover.
