A problem-free software download can take 4 hours. If they encounter problems, it can take much longer. Just a caveat. If you have an earlier build car, your car may not have actually been built with some of the features the new software enables/fixes, which may cause the download to crash. My car was lost in no-software land when this happened to me-- it took nearly 4 days for the software download to finally go through, after finally calling in tech specialists from headquarters with a fix not available to dealers yet.

I bought my car on May 10, not sure about the build date and I don't have the papers with me at the moment, can I tell from the VIN number what the build date was?
I'm taking my car to the dealership this Friday for several issues, one of them being the dead pixel on the Idrive screen, another one the software update, will post here how it goes.

I'm seeing the "Restraint Systems Fault" again, stopped by my dealer, they didn't even hook it up, they just scheduled an appointment for more software updates... v13 I believe... (got 12.x 2 weeks ago)
