So can you guys get ventilated seats with extended leather now, or do you still have to have the full-leather option?
The dealer is checking on it for me know. All I know is that NASCA leather comes with the ventilated seats. I would love the option of full or extended leather in the car as offered in the M5. If I hear any new I will post an update.

Thanks!

The nasca leather is very hard-wearing, but not very supple - I had it in my old 530i - great for a commuter car or family car.

I was told that the Nasca leather was much softer to the touch....??!

BTW... I came across this on the BMW International website.. I wish they offered the spectrum of choices for the US market. Saw a few fantastic combinations of leathers, wood, and colors while in London and Osaka last month... Hope you call view it.

When I ordered my 550 about a year ago, I was able to order the ventilated seats, but only with black or tan, I wanted auburn.

That is still the case (AFAIK). I really wanted auburn too but I settled on black (again).

The Nasca leather is the only one that is 'perforated' so that the seat cooling can operate.

the leather is not that different to Dakota in look and feel, although I'd say its a bit harder wearing.

In Europe, if you order seat cooling you get seat heating as well....and it only took my 8 year old son 5 minutes to discover you can have them on at the same time.

BTW, ledbettm, good choice to add Night Vision....toy it may be, but on unlit roads its a real safety boost - couple of weeks ago I was driving home, down an unlit country road with no sidewalk, was blinded by a car coming the other way.....noticed on night vision someone on my side of the road walking a dog, wouldn't have seen them other wise....

I went back to the dealer on Saturday and I am delaying the order of the 550 until February. So far they do not have any information on the refresh. ugh!!!!
