I was referring to the Z3, Z4, etc. but the other Z cars likely steer the same way, but I have no experience with them.

I have an E85 Z4 right now (as I wait for my E60 order for 2005), it doesn't steer like the E60 with Active Steering. The Sports mode will turn on a more firmer steering but the turn ratio stays the same.

Right, Nick, but the low speed feel is similar. Since hopefully most valets will be moving at lower speeds, I was thinking that the steering would be similar enough to provide a little familiarity.

I let my good friend drive mine on monday, (he's buying one), and was scarred that he was going to curb something because of not being familiar with Active Steering.

In the end, he didn't, and all is well. We're still friends.

i would say most places where i live that have valet are fine restaurants or clubs. they will baby your car usually. you could tip the guy before that would indicate, please don't f*ck it up..and be extremely polite and somewhat humble. raise hell to the owner or manager if there's any damage.

I'd be more worried about the car the valet parks AFTER he's done yours, without active steering.

Curbing is not all that bad, James. I have curbed three or four times and have yet to develop a rash. I am now working on judging those square corners (aren't they fun!) by the rear wheels. Haven't curbed in about a month now.
