Espresso parts! Look for anyone that sells/repairs espresso machines. They will have Viton O-Rings of all sizes. Viton is the best.

I would like to check on mine as well but I don't know where it's located. I've been getting this strange whistling sound when I let off the throttle, kind of like a flute playing, and I'm beginning to think there may be a vacuum leak. Anyone kind enough to post a pic showing where the pump is located in an N52 engine bay?

Well, according to the part no, this is the o-ring between the vacuum pump and the engine.

The o-ring between the pump and the pump cover is not a separate part in the BMW parts catalogue.

Oh just a heads up.

Please check your oil switch. It is directly below the vacuum pump on the 545i, resealing the pump may not be necessary. Because of the fan belts, oil leaking from this switch will make it appear like it is from the pump!

This part is less than $15 at the local parts store

Has anyone considered or attempted contacting Luk (the actual manufacturer of the pump), to attempt to get some of these elusive o-rings to share with all?

Check out page 18 of their brochure; look familiar?

The O-ring that you referred to in your fix is not the one I am looking for... I am aware that you can purchase the rear seal from the dealership; it is typically not the problem (as is the case with mine). The part that i'm attempting to obtain is the seal at the front of the unit, between the body and the front plate, which is not available through BMW.
