I believe thats CIP 12243, but it still sometimes makes tea

Now this makes sense.
The dealer will use the same DVD for all cars, however, the actual data they upload from the DVD will be determined by the model of your car (i.e. 3,5,7-series, etc.)

Thanks for clearing that up.
