Go with 5w30, not 10w-40. It says 5w-30 in the manual.

FROM THE PDF:

BMW recommends that you check your engine oil level whenever you add fuel to your vehicle.
It would help if they gave us a dipstick.

While we're on the subject, ramps or jack stands? I would like to use ramps but am afraid there isn't enough bumper clearance to drive up them.

I have the yellow ramps with extensions that work fine

Did you use the european formula or just the regular synthetic? I think that if my oil is getting changed every 6 months, regular synthetic will be fine.

Mobile 1 "European Formula" simply means 10w-40, which in the manual it says to only use Mobile 1 5w-30
