Hello, I am new to the forum as I just purchased a 2008 550i with the M-sport package. I have attached my ipod to the usb port, but it does not work. I cannot hear anything through the speakers. In I-Drive, I try to switch from aux input to usb, but it will not work. Also, I cannot get my songs to upload from my ipod to the car. Can anyone tell me if I am doing something wrong or is my unit maybe defective.
Thank you, Ed

To attach iPod you'll need a special 6FL cable ... it's basically a split cable that has USB plug (for the power) that goes to the USB port + mini audio jack (for audio) that goes to the AUX on one end and the other end plug to the iPod.
Optionally, you can plug a something like thumb drive to the USB port itself to play audio file such as MP3 files.
