I really don't see the point of plugging in the ipod.

After getting frustrated about the cable (which should be included IMHO!)

The USB chip solution is great, just a buy a 4/8/16 gb and leave it, seems way better than the hassle of plugging/unplugging ipod or leaving ipod in the car. The cable may even cost more than a chip.

Very pleased, even better than ipod interface.

BTW for the fastest chips on the market try the Corsair Flash Voyager
They load the directories significantly faster.
ie it starts quicker
So can you use itunes to upload onto a USB (or can you copy itunes songs onto it)?

nice, I just ordered Corsair 16GB.

About iPod to USB: I don?t really know but I think it must be mp3-files and maybe not AAC-files that is Apples format. Besides that its only to copy and paste from "My Documents\My Music\iTunes to My computer and the place the USB is at.

Anybody who knows what formats working? mp3 yes, but AAC, WMA, RAM etc.

Have been using the Corsair Flash Voyager 16GB for two months now. It works well on my 15GB WMA collection. The first sync took some time, in fact the Album,Artist info etc was not working when I left it overnight (you can play music immediately without a sync by choosing the files directly from the stick). The next morning all the music choice menues were working perfectly - it probably needed a reboot(?).

The only problem is that if you have a lot of music it can be slow to scroll through the lists. It would be nice if there was an alphabetical search option like the phone search screen. Perhaps with a future update... : )

I know the largest is only 8gb, but I think the ATP ToughDrive is a better choice, IMHO.

This is from last year, but read...

Not too sure why anyone said that a Mini HDD or any HDD would not work. I have a Memorex 6GB mini hdd and it works flawlessly. I plugged it into my pc dumped the Folders I wanted in there then plugged it into the USB and Voila...it works perfectly. I just wish it would display the pics & videos on the hdd

btw I need to fix my sig. below, I have a 2008 528i

Peace
