Hi Buddy, I do not know the s/w version on my 5... Is there an option to check? If not, I'll ask the BMW service center next time I'm in the shop to pickup some accessories.

I have software version 15.? and NAV and I have no text on store bought cds or cds burnt with apple I tunes which I believe includes the data for text display.

btw, i don't have text. 13.2, cd player only and no nav.

It depends on the CD. Most older CDs do not have text labels. But if you reburn the CD using software that idownloads the track information from the internet you will see text. I have done this on a couple of CDs.

there have been a lot of debates about this poblem. From the other posts, I can conclude that in dash cd without NAV wont show the CD text. A lot of people with NAV have cd text on their idrive screen.

Sooo, iTunes won't put the text on the CD? (I just bought an iPod and switched from musicmatch to iTunes)... I know that the latest MusicMatch didn't seem to. What Burning software does?

I think most modern CD Burner s/w put the text on the CD, I use Nero Ultra for most of my MP3's to CD creations and text are there automatically. I just drag and drop in Windows Explorer...
