My 08 535 went into production on Monday, and the BMW port notified us that Aero Kits will not be installed on 08's as of yet. Thats upsetting to me.

In the US, the M aero kit is only available on the 550i with sport package as a factory installed option. 535s and 528s (and non-sport 550s) can't get an M aero kit "at this time." I was given an "estimate" (read: guess) that a kit would be developed and released in the US around the fall. Hopefully it's sooner, but it may be later. We will have to wait and see...............

Available as a factory ordered option in Canada on all 5's.

I don't understand why BMWUSA does not permit ordering of the Msport.

Because, in my opinion, BMWNA is trying to position the 550i sport against the 535i. Since there is only a small difference in performance, the cosmetics represent a point of difference in the two cars.

Thank you bmw093 for the info.

Excuse my My08535i, I do not seem to understand the BMW policy at all.

The demand for 535i's is huge, and the chassi is the same as in the 550i, so why not M-sport?

Fucking with customers isn't the best way to sell a product, is it?

In EU a 535i is not even possible to buy.

As a matter of fact, I tried to order a E92 335iA this winter, but the car would have been deliverd
late this coming fall...

Well, a much better solution to that kind of a problem is actually giving the 550i "enough" horsepower. Heck, the Infiniti G37 that was announced at NY Auto show will make 330hp out of a naturally aspirated V6!!! The 550i needs 400hp.

I hate to say it, but Benz has the right idea... the uber-premium cars need turbocharged V8s and V12s. Then the lesser models don't have a chance at encroaching on their turf - regardless of where the arms race puts their output.
