I was reading in the E60 Dealer Product Information pdf that BMW offers a full maintenance package on the E60 while Audi only offers a scheduled maintenance package. Both for 4 years. What's the difference?

I think it's just terminology. BMW is full "scheduled" maintenance.

I agree, just terminology- the book I have says " full maintenance covers all factory recommended maintenance on all MY2004 or newer vehicles, as determined by the Service Level indicators for up to 4 yrs or 50K miles. Exclusions from coverage include gasoline, gasoline additives, windshield fluid, wheels, wheel alignment, tire balancing and rotation ......"

Dealer covered my front brakes on full maintenance for my E39 540. I think full maintenance goes beyond the scheduled services. Windshield wiper inserts are replaced when you ask, too.

Full Maintenance on a BMW is the US means EVERYTHING , not just scheduled maintenace. Every working part and accessory is covered, the only things not covered are tires, wheels, and things caused by driving erratic, like money shifts, etc

My 2003 Audi A4 Cabrio came with Audi Advantage (US Only) which is very similar to BMW Full Maintenance. Starts aftee the 1 yr warrenty and goes through fourth year or 50k miles. Includes clutch disc wear out, brake pads below wear limits, windshield wipers, any thing on scheduled maintenance, battery, fuses, the list goes on and includes wheel alignment if no evidence of abuse, and tire balancing, although on mine I'm not sure since I have larger after market wheels and tires. Very happy with support so far. But I can't wait for the 6er in hand for true driving excitment.

Thanks.. I really did not want to hijack your E60 board but you folks are the only really good source of latest BMW tech stuff and so willing to share and have fun at the same time. The so called E63 forum at another site is not a fun place to be.

I will post pix at my first opportunity, probably sometime in February.

I think you are getting the 4 year maintenance program confused with the 4 year warranty. I know my car is warranted. But my question is... BMW uses the fact that our cars come with a "full" maintenance program as a selling point against the Audi A6 - they say it comes with only a "scheduled" maintenance program. Any one know what the difference is here?
