I only have a couple more months here in Germany (NOV 04). It makes since for me to buy US spec. I just want to get everything fixed and everthing that I want added before I leave.

Icy,
I know what you mean about the books. I have looked at it so many times. I am about to re read the nav portion again just to be sure.

JBOO - I was just thinking it would be easier selling a $20,000 car than a $50,000 car to an American that's just going to have to turn around and sell it again a few years later. I just know we were not going to make that kind of investment and have nothing to show for it. German and US spec cars are not all that different so we are choosing to go with the US car.

About meeting...
We need to get past the breaking period of our cars too so we can have a +130mph train of new 5er's cruising down the autobahn Looks like if spec33 will be joining us we will have to do something before November.

Agreed. Need to wait until break-in is complete. (I'll probably be half way there one the first day!)

Spec33,

When were you plannning to ship your car? Think we're tentatively looking at a Sept/Oct road trip.

Need it here for the family and myself to get around until we leave. Will ship some time in the second week of Nov. I have a car in the states so I can wait until the last minute. Just let me know. I love a ROAD TRIP. There are about six or seven other E60 here that don't surf but would love the trip.

Awesome! A road trip sounds great for that time frame. A row of 5er's would really turn some heads.

Groovy

I should have my VIN by the end of the month....now if they wanted to build early it wouldn't hurt my feelings at all. (right, Doctor D!)

More news on Handy's. I gave them my VIN and all the computer told him was that it used US phones. Once I find out what kind of phone is used with the car he can give me more information.

My phone is the Siemens M55, Tri-band. Hopefully it will work. More news on the way.
