Default Universal Catalytic Converter - 545i

Recently discovered the cat is going - can hear the tell-tale rattling and confirmed with some tapping while it was up on the hoist.

Has anyone installed a universal cat. successfully with the factory manifold and exhaust remaining intact.. just splicing in the cat.?

The walker 82619 seems to be the best option - has anyone used this cat before?

One had a Nissan Maxima that I put a universal cat on. Was totally fine. It needed some drilling to get the holes the right size and some rigging to get the heat shield to sit right. But, it was like $200 versus $1200 for the factory one.

We're going to hollow out the existing cats and patch the Walker's in behind.. the Walker's come with the 02 bung so more or less patch on - looks like a decent amount of room in there. I'd like to hollow them out and run it without but e-tests require them.
