Hi Palmo

All well here, my fronts and rears have worn exactly as you have described yours, the center band on the rears is particularly annoying, note please i have never added air to any of my four tyres since i picked the car up in April.

eTyres seems the way to go for me....

I'll be fitting the top listed Conti here at ?227.80 it's not such a bad deal, the good point being they will be fitted on my doorstep , I'll bribe the fitter with a mug of hot coffee and all will be well.

CONTINENTAL - SPORT CONTACT 2 EXTRA LOAD
275/30R19Y Reinforced
?227.80 inc VAT each
Fully fitted price, no hidden extras. Arrange Fitting

CONTINENTAL - SPORT CONTACT 2 MO (MERCADES FITMENT)

GOODYEAR - EAGLE F1 GSD3
275/30R19Y
?210.90 inc VAT each
Fully fitted price, no hidden extras. Arrange Fitting

MICHELIN - PILOT SPORT PS2 EXTRA LOAD
275/30R19Y Reinforced

Fully fitted price, no hidden extras. Arrange Fitting

TOYO - PROXES T1-R

FTR I'm fast approaching 20k mls, and would hope to have the rears done sometime during the coming few weeks.

Thanks for the heads up on the TPM.

Like you I aim to change mine in the next few weeks (beginning of Feb maybe). Seems the tyres do typically wear in this way then. That indicates over inflation surely. I tried using a more accurate gauge and lowering the pressures but the car didn't handle right.

I will also be sticking with the Conti's to keep things matching. Still loving the car overall? I certainly am (apart from the tyres and crosswind issue).

For me the e60 is an awesome piece of kit, fortunatly i don't have the crosswind issue, if anything the car is to clinically good at everything it does, I can honestly say that my only issue post the delivery has been a glitch in bluetooth now and then which could be attributed to my Moto Razrv6.

I've been begining to look at older cars agin and plan to go back to Alfa's in due course, there is something about the marque that i simply adore, the way i figure it with what I'm paying out in the month I can have a nice family saloon/estate and in addition have a 2 seater for me to play with, having said all that the F10 may entice and i may yet be convinced to have an M5 or M3 ..... mid life fast approaching oh the crisis

I had the Goodyear Eagles GSD3 on my previous car and they were good especially in the wet.

Those prices look good too.

I have just had a pair of tyres fitted to the rear of mine. I use a company called Protyre, although I don't think they have a place as far north as you.

FYI a pair of conti's was ?440 fitted. I went for Falken 452's in the end, they come highly recomended and cost me ?301 fitted! Being as my conti's had only done 14500 miles I thought I'd give these a try.

So far I am impressed, equal grip and I think they are quieter as well.

Good luck, it is a mine field out there!!
