Just noticed that the perfect reg plate is on sale for my car here in the UK

So you haven't read James May's book then ? He is talking about a W 4 STE of M 9 NEY and STU 91D BUG 63 R for buying special plates.
And he uses A 740 BMW as the prime example - being pointless as it states this on the bootlid already

I agree - there are far more useful ways to spend money than that plate....
