I've just sold my e46 318Ci Coupe and am gutted to see it go. it's been a dream car for me and its a shame its gone. The only thing that makes it any easier is that I'm replacing it with an e60. I have up to 16k to spend (can't fritter money away as I used to now I have my daugther). Can any of you suggest good used dealers, areas etc to buy ? i've looked on Autotrader, not sure on Big Motoring World who are probably my closest BMW specialist (I've heard mixed reviews?). Pref want a 520d, not really more than 50k on clock and max 05/55 plate. Can any of you suggest good dealers or point me in the direction?

If you stay clear of BMW dealers then you will save a little at the expense of their warranty. I bought my e61 from a prestige specialist and so far it's been a very good deal. The same car at a dealer would have been up to 4k more than I paid!

I always look across the whole country and would be prepared to travel to see the right car/spec/price. Last car I bought locally was in 1993!

So my advice would be to keep looking on Autotrader, be prepared to travel anywhere and always haggle on the price. And always run a full HPI.

Not sure about specific dealers/specialists as I find they are all capable of being very good and very bad depending on how the weather is!

got mine from rybrook dealer few months back, the prices were dropping quite alot.
said id pay cash there and then if they dropped ?1500 off the price so was quite lucky

keep and eye on the apporved used bmw site

and deffo go for the sport

16k got me 55 525sport with 58k on clock with media pack and adaptive head lights


so reken u deffo be able to find a nice one
