Yes tried the BP ultimate and noticed my 0 - 60 dropped to 4 seconds flat with top speed of 200mph.

Makes no difference to the car just your wallet.

There are other benefits to enhanced diesel apart from immediate improved performance and there are many advocates of Millers diesel additive on this and other forums.

In a new diesel engine, I believe the advantages of enhanced fuel will not be realised for some time. There has not been a chance for deposits to build up and so on. In an old engine, the performance increase will be more noticable especially after a few tankfuls have flushed out the system a few times.

I think I get slightly better performance using Shell diesel extra and Millers. Consumption is about the same and the engine is quieter. It is extremely difficult to be objective on this though, so this is only a 'feeling'.

I have no evidence to base this on, but I believe that the better detergents and so on in enhanced diesel will keep the engine in better condition for longer. I guess it's the same logic as washing your clothes in premium quality detergents: you won't notice any difference until you compare the results after a few hundred washes.

I used to see a *marked* difference in performance and economy when using Shell Optimax 98 Ron petrol in my 330ci against regular 95 ron petrol.

However, I see no such difference with the so-called *super* / *ultimate* diesels against regular (non-supermarket) diesels...

Cheers.

I just have to say smth for all regular disel fans. Well i use in my 1.9 TDI passat only the best diesel here (and that's omv super diesel). I noticed a slightly less vibration in the engine, same as noise but not too much. You see the problem is you really have to be a good listener and to try to recall how ur engine sounded like when it ran on regular diesel. Most of the people expect what? purrrr like a petrol engine when using advanced diesels?
In performance well i don't talk aobut performance at 110 HP but soon it will change because my 535d is on it's way. In way i kinda hear the engine like it's injecting the fuel easier with advanced diesel (at full throttle).
And it's another thing the advanced diesels help alot at very low temperatures when at start up. The regular ones work untill -15 C and advanced -25 -30 C.
Anyway in my country the difference in price is very insignifiant and it my opinion it worths.

In 4 weeks and 2800 miles I haven't been to the same petrol brand more than tewice, in an attempt to try some different gas.

The conclusion.... GO FOR THE CHEAPEST!
