Tyre size choice

I'll make this quick as i'm off to the fitting station tomorrow!
I have standard suspension 17" alloys , 225/50 tyre size
I'm changing 18" wheels and can either go :
225/45
235/40
245/40
What you guys reckon ?

My Ride: Mod 2004, 2.2L --> 6 Cylinder engine (not V6), 170HP, M-package, wheels: 265/45 at back, 235/45 at front, parking sensors, automatic gearbox, roof hatch ++
I have 18" also, 235 in front, and 265 at back. Have not experianced anything negative when driving. + it looks cool
