Hey guys,

ive got run flats on the e60. I wsa driving yesterday and the Tyre pressure sign came up on the dash and idrive. I drove carefully for tehe rest of my journey even though i did not feel pressure loss or pulling etc. Today I woke up and checked the pressures - theyre all fine. Got it double checked by my local garage too. Tyres seem to be 100% fine but when i go to reset tyre pressure in idrive, it doesnt say "Initialising" as it should I think. Just goes grey and I go out of RPA, back in and it still says "tyre pressure" in the status. Doesnt matter how many times I reset it.

Any ideas whats up ?

Thanks

You have to go driving after resetting it. Sooner or later the system will get back on his feet and it should say "active" in the idrive.

Thanks dude.
I was under the impressiong that you hit reset, it goes into "initialising" then when you driving around it goes into active. But at the moment, it just doesnt go into initialising.

mine takes anything from around a couple of minutes to >30mins at times to reset. I noticed this whilst I was in the process of monitoring a slow puncture over a period of 4 weeks..... but the end result is that it always reset and it's just a matter of time ;-)

I agree with everyone on the drive the car part. you have to drive because depending on the system, sensors are reading how many times the wheel is turning and uses that as a reference. when the tire loses air pressure, the sensors sense the wheel rotating at a different speed than when it was set to proper pressure. while the I-drive reads initializing, drive the car until it reads active.
