Type of Oil to be Used in M54 Engine

My Ride: E60 530i
Model Year: 2004
Engine: M54
A while ago, there was a discussion about which engine oil to be used in our E60. The consensus was either Castrol or Mobil 1 0/40W. When I read the Bentley latest E60 Manual, it calls for BMW 5/30W oil in M54 Engine. Mobil 1 0/40W is for engines other than M54. So which one to use in M54 engine?
