It took me 2 wrong-cancelling signals to learn that you should press the flashing signal again to cancel it.

Huh, did not know that.

I turned off the 3 flash option. I found that feature more likely to get in my way than to be helpful. With the feature off, I like the way the signals function.

Yup, I still mess up the turn signal once in a while...switching from one car to the next.? Anyone have the problem of hitting the wrong button(s) when quickly trying to hit the horn?

<---me!

I also have a Honda Accord with one small horn button on each side of the steering wheel that can be operated with one's thumb. (which I prefer to the one big horn button). I'm always messing up.

Not anymore... took me about 3 driving sessions to get the knack of it. Now I can't use standard turn signals!

Its funny, when I go out on a business trip and I get the rental car, I find myself trying to use it as the one in our E60's, I give the stick a little push to change lanes... then realize its not doing anything
I like the three flash signal a lot. I believe Audi also incorporate it on the A4, not sure about their other models

i don't like the fact that you can't feel if it's positioned left or right. with the sound system on, you have to look at the led indicators to see if you're not signaling.

3 signal push is nice on long hwy trips.

I had a extended test drive in the Volkswagen Phaeton, which had this feature also so I am sure the A8 has it. I did like it. I did take me awhile to adjust though.

Sorry to go OT, but what is the Phaeton like? I wouldn't mind one of these second hand when I get a bit older.
It's really funny the wife does not like to drive my car because of the turn signals, I've had it for almost a year and she hasn't figured them out yet. lol , more behind the wheel time for me.

Give your wife the second key and program the triple signal activation to off! Its very simple and can be done for anyone who cannot handle this.

I would like for it to signal five times however. That what it takes to change a lane on a busy freeway.

Me too - five times would be perfect. Or perhaps just the option of five times or three times. There are so many little things I'd like software to do - like count down backwards playing a song instead of just counting the seconds foward...so many little things....
