You're not going to get a pic like that on an E60. The blinker works on the K-bus. It works with the LCM, KOMBI and JBE. You need the wiring diagram to diagnose correctly. I think it's a white/orange wire you need to ts on the LCM to JBE and KOMBI I just need to verify.
The OP asked what speaker the sound was coming out of and that's what we were replying to. If he needs more assistance we will assist when we can.I personally don't think it's the speaker itself because the sound is not loud enough to make it go bad. Condensation on the plugs/wires would be your best bet but you can't start troubleshooting until you have the diagram because it is complex.

Hey SuperBear,
In the post above SeanJordan says the blinker works with the LCM module (its not a speaker malfunction).
Since you and I have the exact same problem, know that I have a perpetual fault on the LCM module (when I use INPA or ISTA to capture my e60's fault codes).
If I erase the LCM fault it comes back quickly. I've always assumed the LCM fault code has something to do with the blinker audio not functioning.
Here's a question for SuperBear. When you use INPA or ISTA to check fault codes, do you get the LCM fault code?
