That above kind of is. The reason I say kind of is because it looks like that person has activated the rear fogs to flash as well as one of the inner brake bulbs -- which in my opinion, the combination makes it look terrible.

As for your friend saying his flashes too slowly, that sounds... off. From the other clip I have seen, it flashes very rapidly, and really gets the attention of the person behind you. Perhaps for our cars, there are additional variables to modify to change the flashing frequency.

Can you post a link to that other video?

I have only seen the F10 M5 video on the Nordschleife here (see flashing @1:08):
If this is possible, that would be perfect.

Or maybe there are differences between pre-LCI (ours cars) and LCI?

Yup, that's how it should flash.

Here's the clip I saw. Around 15 sec is when you see it.

Guys , in the video of E60 as well as E46 , it's after market brake strobe , it's available everywhere ( ebay etc etc )it's small electronic board to be connected on the brake light ,

I've tested the OEM ( wert_03 ) flashing option on my friend's E64 650I , he has complete LED brake lights so it is not bad on his car but it flash's the same speed of the turn indicator speed not like the F10 in the video , and as the others said , it's activated only when ABS is active , and once the car stopped the light stops flashing ..

I've configured the 3rd brake light to flash in my E60 since it is the only LED so it looks nice but again it flash's very slow ...

Ehssan, are you sure? Now I am thinking about it, I do believe I saw a video that someone has posted of an E9x with this activated as well.

I'm sure about the brake Strobe , actually one of the E39 friend wanted me to order it for him but I told him it will look stupid on NON LED's brake light , I'll try to find the link for that device , it also allows different strobe speed with different settings ,,, I'll post it here once I found it ..
