got a mechanic to look at the car as it isnt performing 100%
found two things (worst things probably)
MAF and turbo
the MAF its not too much to replace but there was some oil in the intercooler pipe. after cleaning it and driving for 50km it was back. coming from the turbo of course.
my guy was saying on my car (09/2005 520d E60) they cannot be rebuilt as they cannot be balanced and refurb ones have 35% failure rate within 1 year which also sucks.
of course paying 1500+ for a new one is not something i'm a fan of.
anyone have any experience with refurb turbos (or even new ones with decent price) from any places in Ireland/UK?
