My Ride: 2006 530i
Default

06 530i with 106k on the clock, experiencing issues with vibration at idle (on traffic lights) and awkward 1-2 gear shifts.

I've read every thread on this issue and I've decided to make a list as to where to start. any input would be great. on a side note: my pads/rotors (front and rear) will be changed as well. i don't believe the pads are the issue because the vibration isn't from the steering wheel or when i am coming to a stop--only when i've already come to a complete stop. also, a new valve cover gasket to take care of a leak due to broken aluminum screws. spark plugs are being changed as well. i don't know if any of these would cause the shifting/idle issues, but i thought i'd state what my weekend will be like

-going to start with changing the trans oil, pan, gasket filter, and sleeve

-then move on to the service bulletin regarding the exhaust (dampners)

-no luck? then i will move on to having it programmed to idle at 750

-that doesn't work.. alternator?

so does this seem logical to everyone?
