Trim work is a pain sometimes. My niece broke off the trim that protects the wires on the rear passenger door/floor. I thought that if i just bought the OEM part it would clip back in EZ.
NOPE, because it is screwed in with 1 screw that you have to take the bottom seat out and the back seat out to get to.

TAKE THE BOTTOM SEAT OUT

TAKE THE BACK SEAT OUT

TO GET TO THIS ONE SCREW

THAT COVERS THIS (top angle)

Old and new replacement

On another note, anyone know what this guy is called? Is it like the secondary hydralic cylinder? I was going to replace the bushings on the Clutch pedal in the car (get rid of the squeek) but stopped when i saw this:

Pretty sure that's the clutch master cylinder.

Accidentally broke the exact same piece 1 week ago :-( I think it will be hidden by the seat, so I'm not going to bother with replacing it now unless it creates any problems.

the bottom cushion just pops up, but how do you remove the upper portion of the rear seat? looks like two bolts on the bottom. any others?

Ya two bolts on the bottom. The best way to do it (after action review...) would be to take the bottom cusion out, take out all of the the seatbelt stuff. Take out the two bolts at the bottom then go to the trunk. There are two latches at the top that you have to get to through the trunk. You go in there and put your head agasint the rear seats and look up. There will be two wholes with these spring looking things. Stick a flat head in there and push it to the side and it will open the latches. (i have a 2005 525i some backseats are different)
