My Ride: 07' 550i sport; Sapphire Black/Auburn; sport package; steptronic; navigation with R.T.T.I.; heads up; cold weather package; Logic-7; BMW MOST ipod kit; Motorola V3 snap-in adapter; rear heated seats and rear shades; anthracite headliner; sirrius sat. radio; M-aero kit; OEM style 166 Wheels with 245/35-19 front and 285/30-19 rear Michelin PS2s.
I have an 07' 550i steptronic (not sport auto). Twice the transmission has gotten hung up on the 1-2 upshift. As in...you need to shift manually or it won't upshift at all! It sounds terrible and it's obviously bad for the car.
These 2 incidents happened over the last 3 months and only when DSC is fully off. I have dinan software (which raises the rev limit) and I am running narrower rear winter tires.
Problem is, now I am starting to feel some transmission slip under normal driving. I've felt it only once or twice. But I know enough about cars to know this problem won't go away and it's a one way street.
I am going to document it with my dealer so that if it gets worse there is a history of it. I'm still within full maintenance for another 15k miles and 18 months.
Has anyone else had this happen? Any suggestions regarding this problem?
Thanks,
DRP
