I bet 99% of the E60 owners have not changed their auto transmission fluid.

I think it's quite expensive?
to change the oil and filter in hk it cost $450us
which is very cheap compare to a new gearbox
so if you planning to drive the car for a long time like me then I would change it at about 50000km

wow what about the filter?
that is alot of money just for the oil.
if the changing the oil the filter must be change too at the same time.

if it was the "mechatronics" transmission seal, then yes there is a SIB out, do a google search.
$16 part, defective design, buried and hard to get to.

It is the seal for the electrical harness that enters into the tranmission.
