HI all, I have an automatic '05 545i and when I'm in between 30-40 mph the car has some intermittent hesitations. Kinda feels like its caught trying to shift...then when its in DS it does the exact same thing at 60...I took it to the dealership and they said they fixed it and it still does it. Any info would be greatly appreciated

What did your dealer say they did?

Here was a thread which was about similar fault a while ago. The result was that they had to change whole mechatronics unit inside the gearbox.
Same kind of fault has been appearing on our Finnish forum recently, mainly with 530D models. Hesitancy to change gear and then the box cannot decide what to do.
Starts to look like a systematic failure on some systems inside the gearbox, maybe solenoids on valves?

I have this exact same problem and have been trying for a full year to get this fixed. It is like the car stumbles but the rpm's don't change Mine usually happens when I am in the rpm band of 1500-2000 rpm. My SA said that it cannot be replicated. I am bringing the car in soon for an oil change, transmission oil change, diff oil change and to have them look into the constants squeal when I turn the wheel at slow speeds and I will just have to bring it up again but this time I will spend the time to take the SA out for a drive to prove it. That always works. I will post my results

I'm having - and a few others - the same problem on a manual (and a virtually new car). I think there is a good possibility this isn't related to the auto trans but rather the actual engine .

That sounds like the fuel lines on the injectors or the injectors itself, to much air in either would result in the engine hesitating as described, take off the engine cover and check all lines to the injector and while you are there check the vaccum lines for corrosion!!!
