Default Transmission Malfunction Please Help A noob out

Wanted to introduce myself in better circumstances but new to the forum and trying to get some advice on my new BMW E60 that I purchased. Car is a 2007 530i

Here is the occurrence that has happened. Two days ago I was helping my girlfriend with her car that kept dying and jumped it a few times over the course of a couples days. Yesterday I was driving home from work and the car when into Transmission Malfunction Mode. It has happened once before but I would just shut it off and then just turn on and boom no more issues. So it has yet to get out of transmission malfunction mode, granted now it is actually throwing up a SEL. I was reading that it could be the battery but took the battery to AutoZone where they tested the battery and told me 100% good battery. 800 CCA and it had no signs of issues. What are some things I can look be looking at to find out the issue. I was just a weekend away from doing a Transmission fluid drain and refill but not sure how to get it out of this mode. Any help would be so appreciated.
