I would say that the 2-3 shift and the 3-4 shift are always slow, maybe around 0.5 seconds. It is more noticeable when accelerating moderate/hard, because these are the situations where I am trying to out-maneuver someone or getting out of someone's way, and I'm left feeling like "c'mon, c'mon, hit the next gear already!"
The hard slam into 4th happens maybe once a month.
I've debated whether the solenoid/seal replacement would make the fluid flow more consistent and/or faster? But after just changing the fluid and noticing NO difference, I'm a little shy to spend the money.

I'd just plan on living with it for now and keep an eye on things (regularly check for codes, external fluid leaks).

Hi Kyle, I hope you are still around,
mine is E60 523i 2008, Asia, Indonesia - it says 'transmission faulty', once I scanned it, it says trouble with clutch E. I have changed the whole set of solenoid before, but 5 mo later this problem came up on DS and manual M4-5. some mechanic here suggest to do tranny overhaul, change all the seals, bushings, oil and review the clutch. another mechanic told me the problem is the mechatronic itself. which one do you think I better do to solve this.

If you drained and filled your 6hp19 with LifeGuard 6 every year,
do you still believe the bridge seal is a flawed design and its going to crack at 100,000 miles?
