So I went to mechanic, he checked out the car and said that it was most likely the battery and there was no problem with the gear box.

He recommended that I change the battery as it is the OEM one that came from the factory and is getting old.

Thanks for the help guys.

Getting annoyed with the little problems that have occured lately, my starter motor broke last month, it is taking money out of my modding fund!!!!

I had similar experiences with my 04 545. The tech found corroded wires on the MPT? module underneath the spare tire in the trunk. The battery and alternator tested fine. Paid $300 to replace it, and so far no issues. Knock on your head.

To close this topic, I changed the battery 2 days ago.

I has a few more error messages popping u and then disappearing.

So far so good, had a few error messages in the hour after I changed the battery. I expect this was while the battery was getting upto optimum charge.

Hopefully that will be all my car related issues for a while.

Well I haven't had anything major since I changed the battery.

I do get the odd error message but it disappears straight away and isn't in the Check Control messages in iDrive.

I have a feeling that is what is next for me, had the starter motor 2 months ago and the battery last month.

How much did the alternator cost to be replaced?
