Did you fix your car? I have the same error message '20616 clutch choice Sensors wrong". Mine is E53 2004 3.0D with GA6HP26Z transmission. It pops up the TFP error when the temperature gauge shows a quarter mark. The reverse is OK and only pops up the error when it moves to D. Even when engine is off but key is in on and when moving the selector gear to D, the error will pop-up.

I had to replace my entire transmission because the sensor that's defective is part of the mechatronic.

But yours doesn't seem to be as bad (e.g. error pops up even when car is off). You could try replacing the shifter assembly?
