Hi,

Strange thing happen to my car today. I was driving in DS mode and suddendly, I noticed that transmission would not shift. Then I put it back to D mode and started to shift properly. Then, i put it back to DS mode and while driving it hesitate to shift again.

Has anyone experience this? Sharing some feed back is appreciated. Just a note, my car was fine until... My car did DME recall and upgrade the software to V. 12.

I've not heard of the common software issues effecting drivability but maybe I haven?t been listening. It didn?t change gears at all? How high did you run up the RPM?s? This maybe a silly question but I have to ask - You do realize the shift points in DS mode happen at a lot higher RPM than in D mode, right?

... and if you usually don't drive in the DS mode the car is just learning the way you drive and then will get to normal.
Usually i drive a lot in a 730d with the same gear box, and one time the car went to reprogram and after that took a while to learn and stay as it was before even in the DS mode.

tekor, how high did the RPMs get? I found on my Steptronic in DS, that when I first got the car and was driving aggressively, the DS would let it rev very high before shifting, part of the learning tranny. If I put in DS but am not accelerating hard, it shifts much lower. This was particulalry noticable in thrid gear, wher sometimes it would rev to 5,000 rpm before shifting. Seems to have settled down now, or maybe I have!

Kscarrol,

I believe I was in 1st or 2nd gear since I was at dead stop and started to move.
The rpm went upto 5000rpm and I maintain the accelerator pedal at this point hoping that it will shift. Unfortunately it did not. Maybe I should have hold it longer, I dont know =). Maybe you are right... maybe it was part of the learing tranny.

I will see if it happens again.
