That's BS. My 550, a Steptronic one, has no harsh jerking when I come to a stop. My Step is smooth.

I explained to them that I have contacted many 550 owners on this board and others; my informal research says that not EVERY 550i jerks when coming to a stop. They are holding to their gun. Already fired back. We will see...

How times have your brought the car in for this problem? 3-4 times and I would reach out to a lemon law attorney...that's my plan for now.

There is apparently yet another SIB out for harsh shifts and a new software update (not the April 09 update). They attempted to apply said update through ISTA to another car recently at my dealership and it apparently faulted all over the place so my dealership is waiting for an update to the update! LOL

Hell I no longer even talk to the SA about issues with the tranny, he is sick of hearing from me on it so now they put me straight through to his manager's manager.

I no longer have 2-1 downshift issues, mine is with the transmission slamming into place intermittently on upshift, typically 1-2, 2-3, 3-4 when it does it.

On a side note my dealer has never fixed a single real issue I've taken to them...

at least 4 times and at least two software reprogrammings, nothing helped. right now I am manually downshifting when coming to a complete stop. Waiting for results.

To correct myself, just checked all my service receipts. Car has been in shop for tranny jerk when coming to stop for a total of 7 times.

I heard you. Oh well, you shouldn't have transmission slam with a SMG M5. But you gas bills would be just a little bit higher.
