I made a quick post to end my original topic on my 545 and it's problems not all of the things that went wrong with the car were posted in this Forum. I just do not like being that negative. So, enough with that abortive experience.

Ordered a 07 550 this past week, white with Auburn interior. Still thinking about the colors but probably will stick with it. Options are: NAV, head up, Night Vision, Logic 7, comfort seats, cold weather pkg, rear seat heaters, rear airbags, HD Radio, Active Steering, Steptronic and will probably have the windows tinted again. I will have the rear camera removed from my 545 and installed on the 550.

I do have one question about the 07 and how it interfaces with the iPod. The salesman said that is standard now on the 07 is that true? He said there are jacks in the back of the arm rest. Are we now able to scroll using the keys on the steering wheel?

A couple options I had on the 545 I did not order on this new one were fold down rear seats (from day 3 a noise creator always squeeking and rattles) and Satellite radio. I went with the HD saved the 95 dollars and wil be able to use it here in Germany.

I'm not sure but if the dealer tells you that its standard for iPod, I think its the AUX port, not the iPod Interface which replaces your CD Changer...

Thank you for the reply! He said the CD changer was no longer an option that this "port" replaced the 6 pack and I could use my iPod through it. Evidently he does not know what he is talking about?!

Congrats - I agree on the SAT radio, but disagree on the fold down rears. Whatever was causing them to squeek must have been fixed as mine have never made a noise - and just the other day I got to actually use them when I picked up some wood at the local hardware store. Was so glad I had those.

Its definitely not the IPod interface, mine has a simple AUX in in pretty much the worst possible place, the rear of the center console. What were they thinking??????????? Why didn't they put in in the center console, just like the E90.

Then hes right... he does know what hes talking about... good salesman! But as far as it comming standard... I dunno... maybe you can order it from the factory now? or they'll install it at the dealer.

Thanks, I will reconsider. I noticed you are in or near Chicago. I grew up across the lake in Michigan City, In. I use to take the South Shore as a kid to Chicago to watch the Black Hawks play. I returned a few years ago from Germany to attend a conference and was really impressed with how things have changed so much there.

Yea, they are totally re-developing the south side - and even more so now that we are competing for the Olympics!
