I sold my 05 545 with pretty much all the options you have with only 42k miles on it! I sold it
about 2 months ago for 23k and had to pull teeth to get that price!I would say a 545i is going for
roughly 18-22k right now!

Take it to carmax, they may surprise you. I just got a quote for my wife's infiniti ex 35 from them and it was just $1500 below the residual value. We will owe $2000 in mileage overage if I turn it back to infiniti.

Sell yourself if your worried about getting top dollar. You should easily get 3K more then dealer trade in.
No dealership is going to offer more (or if they do it isn't much) then what they can currently get it through auction. You get screwed almost everytime trading in. Only good thing is it can save you some tax money in most states.

if you want to see what the real trade in price, get a month subscription to Blacks guide. The prices listed are wholesale so you will know what the dealer is using for price guides. My friend is the largest wholesaler in the Midwest for luxury cars and he buys for almost every large dealer in Chicago. He tells me that every dealer does this that he deals with.
