My salesman I bought the 550 from that is at a different dealer is checking into it for me. I also emailed the General Manager at the bmw dealer that CPO'd the car, and he responded back and said he will check on it as well. So hopefully we'll get to the bottom of it.
As far as dealer extended warranty...yeah, I think their prices were kind of steep as well. The M6 is a '07 and has 35k miles on it.
What 3rd part companies does everyone use?
I would use it as a DD, so yeah I'm prepared for fuel cost. I drive 50 miles round trip 5 days a week, all non stop fwy driving, so that should help at least.![Barf](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/barf.gif)

As far as aftermarket warranties, I and a few others on here, use Easy Care. I've had good dealings with them so far. Knock on wood.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the highest mpg the car gets is 15 on the hwy. Assuming a 16 gallon tank thats about 240 miles. By comparison my 535 gets about 450 miles on a full tank - almost double. So if you topped off on Monday and only drove from home to work and back (at a resonable speed btw), you wouldn't make it back home on Friday. Do any extra driving around town and the mileage gets worse.
I'm not trying to scare you - I'm just checking to see if you are really cool with this stat and don't end up getting buyers remorse because of it.

Just noticed you are in ATL. You know anything about Motorcars Of Georgia? They have I think 3 M6 coupes on their site. I may have to cruise over this weekend and check them out

I've heard of people getting as high as 18-20mph on the freeway with their M5. I think the most I saw was a little over 16. And most people complain more about the inconvenience of having to fill up so many times more than anything else.

Be sure the car is under warranty or CPO'd. If so, pull the trigger and enjoy. If the car isn't too clean, run away and don't look back. My friend had a beautiful Alpine White M5 for three years, he bought it with 12K on the clock. At 22K, the SMG tranny died (search red cog of death) The replacement cost with labor was $21,000, the cost to him was $0 as the car was under warranty. Good luck, owning an M5/M6 is a privilege not most Bimmer fans ever get to have

It is still under the factory warranty until October...so I would have a little bit of time to get a 3rd party warranty.
Still haggling with the dealer. Yesterday they offered me 2k more on trade-in for the 550 making it $19k. At least it is in the trade-in value range now, but on the low end...lol So that is a little better. They also knocked off $1k off the asking price....so we're making some progress.
