Lose 3lbs of air and the damn thing goes off...Wish it color coded the extent of the problem:
Red -- don't drive!
Yellow -- mild loss, check soon
Something like that??

i don't condone this but here's a solution:
reset the TPM at 3 lbs loss and then fill up your tire. so the next time it goes off ull be down 6 lbs.

This is not an uncommon problem (on lots of tpms cars, not just bmws) this time of year if you're having some pretty dramatic temperature swings over the cycle of day and night.

Check the valve... That was what was doing it on my Wife's Audi, tightened it up, no more Low tire pressure warnings...

We went from the 20's to -18
