I Currently have a 2008 Blk/Blk BMW 535I - My Sister Owns a 05 White/Blk bmw 545I - Were Talking about trading Cars - I personally Like The V8 Engine - I want to know is it possible to trade out some parts between these 2 cars. - I want to know if we Can trade Seats, Wood Trim, Brakes, Tail Lights, Steering Wheel, Headlights, Ipod Connection. I would definetly Like the tail lights and seats. I appreciate anyone that can help me out here. By the way both cars are sport Package/Premium Package

i love my 545i to death...
so i can fully understand how you might want to jump over to the V8...that being said...i definitely would keep the 535i...the performance difference is present, but not drastic enough to warrant you jumping back 3 years in model year production and retrofitting so many parts.
To answer your other questions, yes you can retrofit the tail lights (might need new cables), the navigational system (it will need to be totally reprogrammed), the seats (also will need to be reprogrammed if you guys have different power functions), the wood trim as well should be swappable but im not sure how the door panels and/or dash may have changed during the LCI update in 2008...
final suggestion...just take the thousands of dollars you might spend on cables and stealership reprogramming and go get yourself a dinan engine software, throttle body and air intake upgrade...then your performance may be on par if not better than the 545i...

My Ride: 2008 535i LCI with sports/premium package, Sports trans with paddle shifters, CF emblems, JB4 Software, Dinan Exhaust, Navigation, M5Tech body kit, Carbon wrap interrior trim and CIC Controller.
I agree, get the Dinan upgrade for you 2008 535. With the exhaust and reprogram I hear it's supposed to increase HP to ~380...

My Ride: 2008 550I LOADED, all options except HUD and NV
Let's see, brakes and wood trim definitely won't fit, LCI cars have different wood trim and the brakes are bigger on the 545.
The NAV, iPod connection, steering wheel - may be able to be retrofitted, but it's going to cost quite a bit in programing, ditto headlights. Taillights can be retrofitted with just Bruce's cables.
Overall, I say don't bother, the cost is not worth the gain.

My Ride: 08 LCI 535i sport M5 umnitza full kit, Maya RM 1 245/35/20 20x9 et16, 275/30/20 20x10.5 et17, Future mods- KW coilovers V3 and StopTech brake
The consensus is to keep the 535i. The retrofitting of the exterior can be done but involves alot if work. The interior of the lci 2008 looks fresher than the 2005. If you want more power, the dinan with stage 2 remapping will out power 545i stock. I guess, I am pretty biased.

Thanks for all the info guys - I think the only thing thats easy to exchange with both vechicle is the tail lights - Basicly I would save about 7,000 dollars between this transaction. With the 7000 extra I have, I was going to buy the full Mtech Kit and Throw my wheels on it and save whatevers left. I like my seats but if I have to get the dealer involved with programing and all that, Then I might as well forget about it. I guess Im just going to think it over some more but I appreciate everyones input.
