The E60 is an excelent car. The car just looks this bad because it is designed that way.the car absorbs 70-85% of the shock so that YOU DONT GET HURT. The car is designed perfectly to be a shock absorbent.

GLAD YOUR SAFE AND SOUND. Hope your car is declared as totaled so that you get a brand new one. I would just hate to drive a repaired car
GL

EDIT: just saw the rear glass. THANK GOD YOUR KID WASNT AT THE BACK.

It depends on the body shop.

doesnt look like enough damage up front to consider it totalled for sure. Good luck

I have the adjuster calling tomorrow, i know there isn't enough front end damage, I am just hoping the front and rear together will be enough to total it.

I wouldn't have wanted to be in any other car though.

its probably not totaled. especially when the car is new.

they usually consider it totaled if the repair cost is higher than the current value of the car.

First of all, glad you're OK. I normally would look at this sort of damage and unflinchingly say it's totaled. Then, I saw what member jmsod went through. His looked totaled also, but ended up as a long repair. It may be too soon to try and make you grin, but at least that trailer hitch stamp is moot at this point, huh? Best of luck.

Glad you're OK. It makes me ill looking at a damaged E60...

I'm hoping that white thing by your steering wheel is a deployed air bag.

It actually is funny that I have an insurance adjuster coming to look at the bumper tommorrow about that, I guess I should cancel. I am not worried about the car, I would prefer totaled as opposed to repair, but I do remember that member's post. thinking ahead to trade in, sale, drivability, i would just prefer not totaled.

It is, I do have some burns on my right arm from the airbag or the chemicals it uses to inflate. BMW assist was also very prompt in calling and checking on me.

Glad to hear you are okay. And the soda stayed in the cup holder? That's it, no more bashing on the cup holders.
