Does anyone have access to TIS? I need to see SIB 54 02 08 "Water Leak From Sunroof". Car is currently at the dealer and I have the feeling I'm going to need some ammo... When I took it in they said it probably would not be covered under CPO warranty because it's considered trim? Staining in the headliner. I dropped it and cleaned out the 2 rear sunroof drains. Upon testing water still leaked from what I'll call a "collection unit" in the corner. I REALLY need to see if this SIB pertains to me but I cannot find it anywhere.

Thanks, I'm actually still reading through this thread since it's like 20 pages long. The SIB shown doesn't list the E60. The one I'm looking for does... There has to be someone on this board with access.

I assume you've looked at them but in case you have not, there's a ton of leaking sunroof threads in the E61 forum here that may help.

In the meantime, here's the bulletin (SIB 54 02 08) you're asking for:

Thank you Rudy! I have read about all of those problems. The only reason I noticed the staining was a teenager put her hands up and all over my rear window glass. When I noticed the fingerprints I saw the staining off to the side. My car has been garaged ever since. Thank god none of my electrical components seem to be affected. I actually dropped the headliner myself before taking it in because I'm just barely still under CPO warranty. One of the drains was clogged but once I cleared it water still came through the "retaining tab" (on page 2) and leaked onto my back seat (since the headliner was down) No Bueno. Do you think they will cover it under CPO? If not, at least I have the SIB to fix it myself!

They covered mine on the wagon, but The issues kicked in during the 4/50k. I mainly was the retarded dealers in ability to Listen to me telling them multiple time s the Drains were clogged.

I had them "fix" it 2 under the normal warranty , then 3 times under the cpo...

Well, I am not happy right now. They are saying the entire sunroof cassette needs to be replaced at a cost of $2k and it is not covered under CPO. I have left a VM for the SA regarding the SIB which I am positive would fix the issue. All I can say is BS. Also, called BMW NA who basically backed up the dealer. How can water leaking from the roof of a car in 5 years (11/05 build) be not considered to be covered under warranty? This is my first BMW and will likely be my last... We'll see what she says when they call me back but basically I'm picking up my car and performing the SIB myself. F*#$&*^!?!?!?!
