I have two front tires for the stock 18" sport rims off my 2007 550i I'd be happy to send you at a VERY reasonable price. Dunlop SP Sport DSST Run-Flat 245/40-R18 tires with 6/32nds tread remaining. I was asking $100 for the pair locally, but I'll ship them if you want them at cost. (Zip is 53033 if you want to estimate shipping cost)

Gotta love those dealers. Make sure you say no to the funny gas in the tires for an extra $20 a pop

If in So Cal why wouldn't you get max performance summer rubber. If you want that but don't want to spent huge dollars get the Hankook Ventus V12 Evos on Tirerack. Dirt cheap and excellent performance.

bmw apparently has some kind of approval system where they 'approve' certain tires for each car. i was told that the continentals i put on my e60 were not 'star approved' by bmw, whatever that means. it was even noted in my service history. i think this basically just gives the dealers a way to stock very few tires and charge a lot for them, while making customers feel like buying something else is 'unapproved' and bad. in reality, any tire that fits is probably going to be fine. in my case, i'll take my dws's over the marginal stock cv95's anyday -- but thanks bmw for trying to sell me an inferior tire for twice the price.
