My Ride: getting one now
Default Tire size question

Hey guys,

I have 2010 550i m-sport with everything factory (172m, suspension..etc) and I need to replace the rear tire. I replaced the front tire few months ago with 255/35/R19 and they look great. I was trying to check if I can set the rear on 285/35/R19? I'm getting really good deal but I don't know if it will work or not? Any rubbing? anyone have any idea or have tried this?

sorry if the answer for this exists l, I tried to search few board but haven't got a good answer.

Thanks

That rear tyre size is an M5 size, the correct would be 285/30R19. However, I believe it wouldn't rub with factory springs and 172 wheels, but it might look a bit goofy with a higher rear tyre wall height. The area where it usually rubs first is the area where the rear bumper and the body panel are connected together.

Almost. I'm at 275/35/19 on style 95s that are 19x10 ET24. All clear, no rubbing, stock m-sport springs and struts. Fills the wheel wells pretty well, so not sure if there's room for any more height. My eyeball take would be I would have room for about a 5mm spacer if I wanted to widen the track a little, but I don't so I haven't tried. FWIW. Good luck.
